I have produced 14 full length albums and counting.

Wildly original music, yet deeply refined by 26 years of classical, jazz, and psychedelic training.

Green Harts hear the music first.

I have performed over 500 live shows and counting.

With my own groups and many others, from folk-rock to progressive death metal, to jazz, to avant-garde dungeon synth.

Green Harts make the shows go on.

Creative music lessons, that have helped thousands of musicians get outside the box, and thousands of listeners connect with music in a new way.

Green Harts keep the connection going strong.

I have released 71 music lesson videos online and counting, many with over 100K views.

I am deeply inspired by nature, particularly the forest.

My music is not secular. My music is sacred. Worship music. Worshipping what? The forest.

Green Harts help me put my money where my mouth is.

Hi, I'm Troll Hart, a life-long devotee of progressive, nature inspired music. Or as I like to call it, Faery Music. I'm so glad you found this page!

This is me at a Steinway grand piano that I got to perform with in Berkeley CA on my band Faerie Folk's recent tour.

Because of the Green Harts.

But what are the
Green Harts, exactly?

I'll make a long story short. In 2022 I made the leap of faith to go full time musician, no side hustle, no part time job.

Among my 3-4 gigs per week, I had to start releasing videos every day. Obviously my preferred type of video was me making music.

I had no idea what I was doing in terms of online strategy, but I started a Patreon anyway.

Green Harts were the first people to support me there and listen to this new project.

At the time I was calling them "Rainbow Bridge Guardians", as a reference to my music being highly chromatic, as opposed to diatonic.

Music nerd terms aside, these were and still are the folks that gathered and made it possible for me to work all day every day on making music and forming a business around it.

They made possible the entire year I spent practicing and studying social media. 8 hours a day. Every week. Not possible with some other part time job. They are the reason you know of me and are reading this now.

A couple years and 4 lengthy albums into the project, I changed the name of my wonderful listener-supporters to "Chromatic Library Keyholders", referencing their exclusive access to my vast and wonderous archive of highly creative, highly vulnerable music.

Now, 4 years and 7 albums in, the name has changed again, due to a deeply significant event in my life and my spiritual practice. Now the fine folks who are my listener support are called Green Harts.

This new name comes along with a big upgrade. Going forward, a significant percentage of my total Patreon income, my main source of income, will be donated to forest conservation organizations and innitiatives.

That's why I said Green Harts help me put my money where my mouth is. I have written and sang worship songs to the forest for over a decade. However now I finally have enough business sense and a large enough community to start contributing resources to the various organizations who are helping to preserve the forests of our Mother Earth both as natural resources and as the holy sites they truly are.

Green Harts make all this happen simply by standing with me in my devotion to music. Some through Patreon. Some by showing up every month at Faerie Folk's home tavern here in Portland OR. Some by simply listening to my music released through Tree Temple Music, my independent record label.

Some Green Harts are helping just by reading my newsletter, which contains deep stories from my personal journey and a fair bit of news as well ;) This newsletter exists to stoke the fires of love, hope, and belief in the healing of Mother Earth during the troubled and often confusing times we are all living in.

If you've enjoyed reading this page, I think it's a safe bet you'll enjoy reading my newsletter as well. If you'd like, here's where you can easily sign up:
